April Mamaclay is a senior who has lived on O’ahu all her life. She enjoys adventures with her friends, and on her free time she enjoys baking sweets. After high school she has plans to attend college to pursue her career as a forensic scientist.

In celebration of Black History Month, Phi Beta Sigma hosted their 6th annual Poets from the Past contest. Senior Renee Banks (third from left) took first Place by reciting Maya Angelou’s "Phenomenal Woman," and sharing facts about Angelou. “I took time to memorize the poem as well as build a positive mindset,” Banks said.

Physical Education students generally run for up to two hours a week for class. I am proposing that student athletes who meet the physical activity and personal fitness requirements earn a PE credit. Football player Ryan Reagan (10) said that “you have much harder exercise in a period of three hours, whereas PE is only one.”
