Alexandra Hagedorn is a first-year teacher arriving in the English Department. She originally grew up in Hawaii Kai on the Eastside.
“I enjoy Hawaii, and I think the students should go out and experience the beautiful nature and culture of Hawaii,” said Hagedorn.
Hagedorn went to college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and graduated with a degree in English.
Her ultimate goal for this school year is to build relationships with her students and hopefully make an impact on her students to find their potential.
“I love the staff and the students of Radford,” said Hagedorn.
Hagedorn feels her experience at Radford has impacted her life.
“I enjoy the kindness at this school, I love the diversity of the school, I enjoy hearing the students’ experiences on where they’ve come from,” said Hagedorn.
A unique fact about Hagedorn is that she loves the ocean.
“I go shark diving,” said Hagedorn, “The ocean teaches me a lot.”
Hagedorn absolutely loves teaching.
“Teaching teaches me to be patient in life. It takes up a lot of my day,” she said, ”It teaches me that I can grow into anything and that it takes time.”
With great desire and kindness, she expressed a message to her students, “Your 4 years are going to go by fast, explore the culture of Radford and be a part of things, be more involved, and never take your high school experiences for granted.”
